The Cultivation Of Culture Awareness In Junior High School English Teaching

According to the New English Curriculum Standards of Compulsory Education which was published by the Ministry of Education in 2011,the culture awareness is one of the main motives of the English teaching.The culture awareness is important for students to achieve communication with English.However,the cultivation of culture awareness in English teaching of junior middle school stage is not ideal,the cultural awareness can still be improved.Therefore,in this paper,the objects of the study are some teachers and students in the Xingyi Sunshine Middle School in Guizhou province.Through the literature research,interview method,observational method and questionnaire survey,I summed up the problems in the cultivation of culture awareness in English teaching.I found that teachers,students and the school lack the culture awareness.This part from the teachers,the school,the students,the family four aspects carried on to the cultural awareness problem has turned over to analyze.Then I got the factors that affect the cultivation of cultural awareness and find out strategies to improve cultural awareness in English teaching.According to New English Curriculum Standards of Compulsory Education and the particular circumstance of the school,this paper puts forward a series of reform ideas to the education department,schools and teachers,parents and students,to promote cultivating cultural awareness.I knew we still have a lot to do with the cultural awareness cultivation through the research.It's a long-term process.We'd better pay attention to it and make students learn about foreign culture and the cultural differences,so that they can broaden their horizon and integrate into the world better.Therefore,the survey of cultural awareness cultivation has great theoretical and realistic significance.
