A Study Of Complex Sentences In Xinxu

Xinxu is a work of Liu Xiang in the Western Han Dynasty,the literature is mainly based on satirical for political purposes of historical stories,a total of 30 volumes,the current existence of only 10 volumes.We use Dixon's theoretical framework on the semantic relationship between small sentences in The Semantics of Clause Linking to classify and discuss the compound sentences in the Xinxu.The full text is divided into seven chapters,the first chapter is the introduction.This paper mainly introduces the author Liu Xiang's life,works,the current situation of the study of the sentences and the significance and method of this discussion.At the same time,we introduce Dixon's complex sentence theory system,a simple overview of the Xinxu rephrase system is also given.Chapters 2 to 5 describe different types of compound sentences.The second chapter mainly discusses the type of continuous compound sentence.Analysis of the Xinxu appeared in the time continuous re-sentence,relative time rephrase.For each type of compound sentence type mainly from the formation and meaning of the two aspects of the discussion and analysis.The third chapter mainly discusses the types of generalized causal complex sentences.From the semantic difference between between the sentences,the three sub-classifications of causal complex sentence,purpose compound sentence and hypothetical compound sentence are divided into the hypothesis compound sentence,in which Dixon puts the hypothesis into the continuous compound sentence,in the course of writing,we make corresponding adjustments according to the semantic characteristics of Chinese.In addition,according to the means of bonding between the sentences from the two aspects of the formation and intention to analyze it.The fourth chapter mainly discusses the addition of complex sentences.It is discussed in four sub-categories,namely,adding complex sentences out of order,adding complex sentences for the same event,detailing complex sentences,turning complex sentences.We analyze the disordered addition of complex sentences from the perspective of equal and comparative complex sentences.The discussion of the choice of complex sentence from the point of view of logical significance is a new classification angle proposed by Dixon for us.The detailed sentence is discussed according to the difference of sentence structure,from the total score structure and the total structure.With regard to concession rewords,we did not separate the concession rephrases according to the classification criteria of many linguists,but rather classified them as sub-classifications of the transitional rephrases.The fifth chapter is the way to repeat the sentence.Whether the focus sentence really acts according to the behavior described by the supporting sentence,divides it into hypothetical and real-style duplexes.The sixth chapter mainly discusses the choice of complex sentences.From disjunctive choice complex sentence and suggestion choice complex sentence to discuss.Chapter 7 is mainly to summarize our research,including the number of times the number of compound sentences appear,the use of related words across classes and the shortcomings of this paper.
