English writing is one of the basic skills of English learning. The importance of English writing in English teaching is self-evident.Reading is a kind of language input.Writing is a kind of language output. However,in traditional English teaching, teachers regard reading and writing as two independent parts.Scholars were committed to exploring how to combine reading and writing better. However, the main subjects of this kind of research at home and abroad are senior high school students and college students. The research on junior high school students as the main subject is not rich enough.Based on the above reasons,Krashen's input hypothesis and Swain's output hypothesis are used as the theoretical basis to explore the influence of Reading-to-Write on the accuracy and complexity of English writing in junior high schools to answer the following two questions:1)What effects does Reading-to-Write have on the accuracy of English writing in junior high schools?2)What effects does Reading-to-Write have on the complexity of English writing in junior high schools?Due to the above problems, the author conducted a four-month experiment for 117 Grade Two students from Nanchuan No.1 Junior Middle School. In the experiment, the strategy of continuation, imitation and so on are adopted. It is found that Reading-to-Write can promote the accuracy and complexity of junior high school students' English writing. The writing ability of two classes was improved in the post-test,but the improvement of EC was more obvious. The improvement of vocabulary, grammatical errors and the use of nonfinite verbs and complex sentences in EC is more significant. In addition, some pedagogical implications can be found in this study: first, teachers should encourage students to read more;second, textbooks are valuable reading materials for students.Teachers should make full use of teaching materials;third, teachers should set different tasks according to different reading materials to make the classroom more interesting.Due to some reasons, there is a certain deficiency in the thesis.
