The senior high English teaching mainly hopes that using teaching to improve students' ability of English.However,there are many problems in English reading teaching.Students don't have good motivation and ability of reading.Teachers' mode unchanged all the time.Tasks are not reasonable.The POA is a teaching theory with Chinese characteristics proposed by Wen Qiufang and her group members.The POA is used in English reading teaching to promote students' reading ability.The purpose of TBLT combined with reading teaching is to complete teaching activities according to tasks.Due to teaching philosophy,they both emphasize “whole-person education” and “learning by doing”.So,they can be combined and used in English reading teaching.In this paper,the POA was applied to TBLT of English reading.I made use of input-output hypothesis and information processing theory as a foundation,combined with the TBLT.Different tasks were arranged for students in different teaching phrases.I conducted four months of empirical research and mainly researched the following issues: 1.At present,what's the status of English reading teaching in senior high? 2.Can the POA be well applied to TBLT of English reading in senior high? 3.How does POA apply to senior high school English reading TBLT affect students' reading score? There are 54 students from an ordinary class in the first grade of senior high in Harbin.They were selected as the research subjects.The experimental period was 4 months.First of all,I learned that students' reading status through questionnaires and pre-reading test results.Secondly,the POA was applied to the TBLT of English reading.Finally,I conducted post-reading test and compared pre-test and post-test of reading results in the experimental class.At last,6 students were randomly selected for semi-structured interviews to further understand their acceptance of the POA in task-based English reading teaching.The research found that: 1.It was learned that the teaching methods were not enough to arouse students' interests and ability of reading.2.According to the comparative analysis after the experiment,the students' reading scorehas been improved,especial the reading comprehension.3.Based on the interviews after the teaching experiment,this study found that students can apply POA to task-based English reading teaching.This method was effective.In class,students used input materials,completed assigned tasks,and evaluated with students or teacher.We can see that the application of POA to English reading TBLT has a positive impact on the students' motivation and ability of reading.It's feasible to use this method to English reading teaching in senior high.Although POA can be well applied to English reading TBLT.Due to the shortcomings of the research object and other aspects,it remains to be further studied by other researchers.
