Inhibitory control refers to the suppression of dominant responses, habitual behaviours,or interference stimuli that are not related to the target in a specific environment.Emotional adjustment ability refers to the knowledge required to achieve the goal of sensitive adaptation and complete the adjustment activities that take one's emotions as the operating object. It is a positive judgment on the result of emotional adjustment.Previous research results show that there is a complex interaction between human emotional activities and behavioural execution control processes. This study uses dual-select oddball paradigm combined with event-related potential(ERP)technology to explore different emotional stimuli from the perspective of behaviour and EEG Next, the effect of high and low emotional regulation on suppression control. The study selected 410 college students to conduct an emotional adjustment ability questionnaire and selected 27% of the college students before and 27% of the scores as the participants in this study.Among them,27% of the college students before the score was regarded as the high emotion regulation ability group(M =4.79,SD=0.26),and 27% of the college students were scored as the low emotion regulation ability group(M =3.37,SD=0.39).The study includes two experiments. The first study uses the dual-selection oddball paradigm from a behavioural perspective to explore the effects of high and low emotional regulation on inhibition control under different emotional types.Among them, the probability of occurrence of standard stimuli(cup pictures)and bias stimuli(positive, negative, and neutral emotional pictures)in the dual-select oddball paradigm is 85% and 15%,respectively.When the stimulus is presented, the subject needs to suppress and control the dominant response to the standard stimulus to ensure correct and timely behavioural key responses to the biased stimulus.Study 2 combines ERP technology and selects FZ(frontal lobe),FCZ(central frontal zone),CZ(central zone),CPZ(central parietal zone),and PZ(parietal zone)as the main electrodes of the study.Effects of High and Low Emotion Regulation Ability on Inhibition Control under Different Emotional Stimuli. The findings are as follows:Behavioral experiments show that emotion regulation ability has a significant effect on individual inhibitory control.(1)There is a significant difference in response time between the high and low emotion regulation ability groups, which is manifested in positive and negative emotions, the response time of the high emotion regulation ability group is significantly lower than that of the low emotion regulation ability group.(2)The reaction time of the group with low emotion regulation ability under negative emotions is significantly longer than that under positive emotions and neutral emotions. There is no significant difference between the two conditions of positive and neutral emotion deviation stimulation, indicating low emotions. The inhibitory control of individuals with regulatory ability is greatly affected by negative emotions. The results of ERP research found that emotion regulation ability has a significant effect on individual inhibition control.(1)In the conflict awareness phase of suppression control, the N2 effect shows that the group with high emotion regulation ability has stronger conflict awareness ability than the group with low emotion regulation ability.Significant differences in points.(2)In the response suppression phase of suppression control, the P3 effect shows that the group with high emotion regulation ability has stronger reaction inhibition ability than the group with low emotion regulation ability.Under positive emotional stimulation, the group with high emotion regulation ability has lower emotion regulation The ability group has a significantly larger P3 difference amplitude, which is manifested by the significant difference of CZ,CPZ,and PZ electrode points;under negative emotional stimulation, the high emotion regulation ability group has a larger P3 difference amplitude than the low emotion regulation ability group The specific performance is that there are significant differences in the five electrode points. This study shows through behavioral and EEG experiments that the ability of emotion regulation has an effect on individual inhibitory control, which is manifested in the conflict awareness(N2)and response inhibition(P3)stages of inhibitory control.Individuals with high emotion regulation ability have significantly higher inhibitory control ability than individuals with low emotion regulation ability, and positive emotions have a more significant promotion effect on inhibition control ability of individuals with high emotion regulation ability.Negative emotions have more significant interference and damage to the inhibition and control ability of individuals with low emotion regulation ability.
