With the development of medicine,Adult Acquired Neurogenic Language Disorder,as a new research field,is getting more attention.In this aspect,China lags behind overseas counterparts who have made more established researches.The report analyzes the translation of Aphasia And Other Acquired Neurogenic Language Disorders,which is written by the famous speech-language pathologist(SLP)-Brooke Hallowell.The book tells the definition and development of adult acquired neurogenic language disorder and how to be an excellent speech-language pathologist(SLP).Through the translation,the translator hopes to promote the development in research and treatment of adult acquired neurogenic language disorder in China,enhancing exchanges with other countries in this area.Guided by the notable relevance translation theory,this translation report was conducted through lexical,syntactical and textual levels by adopting three translation strategies and six translation skills.By the adoption of such strategies as precise inference of author's original meaning,construction of a right cognition context for readers,reduction of the reader's inferential efforts and realization of an optimal context effect,and the specific translation skills,like reconstruction,division and combination,amplification,omission,conversion to achieve optimal relevance,the translator hopes that this Chinese version of the book can make contributions to the development and provide useful suggestions to experts in such area.
