Science is knowledge,art and feeling.Popular science illustrations are visual ways of expressing scientific knowledge in an artistic feeling and expression that is easy to understand and remember,easy to spread and popularize.The essence of art and science is innovation.It is the common crystallization of human creative labor achievements and supreme wisdom.It is the necessity of further blending of human thought and cultural development.Based on the creation practice of popular science illustrations for Dujiangyan water conservancy project,as well as the current trend of scientific and technological revolution,the needs of the times for popular science education and the overall improvement of national scientific and technological literacy,this paper discusses the forms and means of artistic presentation of scientific information,and thinks about the new relationship between art and science.The illustration of popular science is not a simple combination of science and art,but a visual description and perceptual explanation of scientific logic.It is a visual presentation that perfectly blends science and art with the aim of popularizing scientific knowledge and advocating scientific methods and with artistic aesthetics as the medium.
