A Report On The English Translation Of The Distant Savior(Chapters 11-12)

This is a report on the English translation of the chapters of 11-12 of The Distant Savior(????????)by Doudou,a female Chinses writer.The book was first published by the Author Press in May 2005.The translated text is an expressive text and has aesthetic characteristics in language,mainly conveying the author's emotions and attitudes.Therefore,the author chooses Reiss Katharina's theory of the expressive text to guide this translation practice,and then translates the text into English.Through this translation practice,the translator has a deeper understanding of the translation of polysemy,proper nouns,the four-character Chinese Structure,culture-loaded expressions,proverbs,and sentences.The report is mainly composed of four parts.The first part is about the description of the translation task,which includes the topic selection,a brief introduction of the text and the significance of the translation project.The second part is the translation process,that is,preparation for translation,writing of the first draft,the second draft,and the third draft.In the third part,the author selects twenty-eight examples to analyze the translation report.The fourth part is a summary of the translation practice,briefly summarizing the problems encountered in the translation process and experience,as well as the prospect of future work.
