The Study Of Linguistic Characteristics Related To The Trauma Of Adolescents In Custody And Narrative Therapy Intervention

Adolescents in custody usually reports more psychological problems.especially post-traumatic symptoms.The purpose of this study is to investigate the current situation of trauma exposure and the differences in demographic variables among adolescents in custody,and to explore the correlation between post-traumatic symptoms and the linguistic characteristics in autobiographical memory.From this,to design a targeted narrative therapy scheme,and to verifiy the effectiveness of the intervention program.The current article is divided into three parts.In the first study,140 adolescents in custody answered the questionnaire of Lifetime Incidence of Traumatic Events-Student form(LITE-S)and Child Report of Posttraumatic Symptoms(CROPS),to collect demographic characteristics,traumatic experience and severity of post-traumatic symptoms.The results showed that 97.64%of the subjects had experienced trauma,and the scores of avoidance,depression factor and somatic symptom factor were significantly higher among the adolescents in custody whose fathers had bad habits than those whose fathers had no bad habits.The number of traumatic experiences and the degree of pain of the adolescents in custody with the authoritarian parenting style were significantly higher than those with the democratic type,the democratic autocratic type and the permissive type.In the second study,90 juveniles in custody were randomly selected for lifeline interviews,and the recorded data were transcribed into text information.The text was analyzed by the simplified Chinese language-Linguistic Inquiry and Word Count(SC-LIWC).The correlation between post-traumatic symptoms and four types of linguistic characteristics(pronouns,time-oriented words,emotional words,cognitive words)was also analyzed.There is a significant positive correlation between the current level of distress caused by traumatic events and the frequency of first-person singular pronouns and past words.There is a significant negative correlation with the frequency of emotional words and cognitive words.There is a significant negative correlation between the post-traumatic symptom score and the frequency of using emotional words.The third study used narrative therapy intervention program to carry out 6 psychological counseling sessions on 3 high-trauma juvenile detainees,and analyzed the intervention results by using the pre-and post-test questionnaire and the change of word characteristics.The results showed that after the intervention,the symptoms of trauma were alleviated significantly,and the characteristics of the selected four types of words were also significantly changed.The conclusions:(1)The rate of trauma exposure of the adolescents in custody are affected byParenting style;and the severity of post-traumatic symptoms are affected by their fathers' bad habits.(2)The pain caused by trauma,severity of post-traumatic symptoms are related to characteristics of word use(first-person pronouns,past words,emotional words,and cognitive words)in the autobiographical memory of the adolescents in custody.It can be speculated that the adolescents in custody with high trauma has excessive self-concern,excessive attention to the past,expression inhibition,and cognitive fixation.(3)The narrative treatment program designed for traumatized adolescents in custody has a good intervention effect,which can improve their cognitive tendency and alleviate post-traumatic symptoms.
