Kum?raj?va was a figure who had a profound influence on the development of Buddhist culture and art in China and made great contributions to the sinicization of Buddhist culture.Through reading some text materials and field trips to existing sites,the use of different materials of artistic expression allows more people to understand the story of Kum?raj?va's Buddhism.In history,Buddhism was not only influenced by local art in the process of spreading eastward,but also continuously absorbed and improved in the process of spreading,gradually forming the Buddhist art with the characteristics of local art style,for example,the Kizil Grottoes in Xinjiang and the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang are some of the Buddhist art with obvious characteristics of local times.Over the course of history,at the time of the 3rd century BC,there were no single large statues of Buddha,on the great towers of Balhout and Sanchi in history of India,there has been a large number of Buddhist Jataka story painting in the form of sculpture.This kind of story painting is not only rich in content,but also vivid in plot.Its form of expression is more popular and easy to understand.What's more,the low-cost,easy-to-create story paintings,which can be done by one person,are also highly recommended by the times,which can become a powerful tool for Buddhists to preach to some monks and lay people.Nowadays,we can see that almost all Buddhist grottoes,monasteries and other Buddhist sites around the country will have some sculptures,sculptures and paintings of Buddhist stories,and in the form of Buddhist story paintings,its creative material selection is particularly critical.Creative materials need to understand the existing local cultural and artistic characteristics,take its essence,to be used.To sum up,using different materials such as clay paintings,Hessian prayer flags,and relief carvings to represent the stories that master Kum?raj?va experienced while he was teaching Buddhism will have a surprising effect.This kind of artistic creation is more meaningful to make more people know the story of Master Kum?raj?va Spreading Buddhism.
