| After the fall of the Qing dynasty, the decline of the government of the Republic of China and the founding of the People’s Republic of China,Lao She always adhered to a high sense of social responsibility and ardent national feelings,to explain life through literature and art,to publicize the war of resistance against Japanese aggression and to participate in the construction of the popularization of literature and art in new China. The formation and development of Lao she’s literary and artistic thoughts can be roughly divided into three periods: the shandong period(July 1930 to November1937);During the Anti-Japanese War(fled to wuhan in November 1937 and left for the United States on March 3,1946);New China period(returned to China at the end of 1949 and died in August 1966).Shandong period was an important stage of Lao She’s literary and artistic thought generation. When he was striving for artistic and independent literature,he required literature and art to express and explain social life, and to use the common, white and powerful people’s language and the humorous art of blending and blending. The historical background of the War of Resistance against Japanese aggression pushed Lao She to temporarily leave literary artistry for popularization. He stressed that writers should have the thought of "the country is supreme and the war of resistance against Japanese aggression is the first",the writing of "old bottles of new wine, popular literature and art",and the idea of "new and old literature and art are compatible".In the new China period, the political demand made Lao She’s literary thoughts change to the popularization of literature and art.He believed that literature and art should serve the workers, peasants and soldiers, and should follow their own rules. There are four reasons for the change in Lao She’s literary and artistic thought: first, his unhappy childhood and poor living environment created his strong character;Second, the May 4th Movement changed ideas;Third, the influence of Chinese and Western culture;Fourth, the national sentiment of the supremacy of the state. From a comprehensive review of Lao she’s literary and artistic thoughts in three periods,we can see the main characteristics of Lao She’s literary and artistic thoughts in different contexts and the overall evolution track. The Shandong period laid a solid foundation for Lao She’s literary and artistic thoughts, while the theme of The Timesduring the Anti-Japanese War and the political demands of the New China marked Lao She’s literary and artistic thoughts with the distinctive color of The Times, showing the organic unity of change and invariability. |
