The Picture of Dorian Gray is written by Oscar Wilde and published in 1891.The novel tells the story of Dorian Gray,a beautiful young man,who is willing to trade his soul for the sake of eternal and beautiful appearance.The novel is full of strange ideas,and the weird design at the end of the novel is even more thought-provoking,which has become a hot topic among readers.Chinese and western researchers also have different opinions on the novel.Some scholars think that the end of the novel is a concentrated expression of aestheticism,while others think that the novel reveals a moral metaphor.In a word,Chinese and western scholars have studied the novel from different perspectives and achieved a lot.Among numerous studies,however,they hardly involved in the concept of “body”,but it can't be ignored is that the main line of the novel is the appearance change of the protagonist,and the appearance is the most direct presentation of the body,which shows that “body” is inevitable with Wilde's literary creation and aesthetic concept.At the end of the 19 th century,Nietzsche fully affirmed the status of the “body” in philosophy,breaking the traditional “body and mind dualism” philosophical view of “rule the body with the mind”,which had epoch-making significance.He tried to liberate the “body” from the shackles of the “spirit”,so that the “body” could enter the field of literary activities and gradually become an important part of literary creation.Based on the body theory and the research foundation of previous scholars,this paper takes “body” as the research entry point,based on the body theory and the research foundation of previous scholars,to interpret the portrait of Dorian Gray,in an attempt to further and thoroughly explore Wilde's body consciousness and creative thoughts in this novel.The introduction of this paper mainly summarizes the domestic and foreign research on The picture of Dorian Gray,and puts forward the research significance of this thesis.The body part is divided into three chapters,which are analyzed from the following three aspects:The first chapter focuses on the individual level,from the perspective of Deleuze's body aesthetics and Lacan's theory of mirror,etc.,combs the body building in literature since ancient Greece to explore how individual level of body shape in Wilde's works.in the process of understanding what kind of role in the body,in the face of the problem of the relationship between the soul and the body he how to choose,and the individual level of body writing of Oscar Wilde's thinking on individual body.Based on the perspective of ethics,the second chapter comprehensively uses various body theories to conduct an in-depth analysis of the body writing in the novel from three perspectives: body desire,ethical concern of the body and ethical narration of the body.In the part of “body desire”,the author analyzes the internal relationship between the generation of desire and human body demand from the perspectives of culture,power and society,and the main characters' views on body desire in the novel.In the part of “the ethical concern of the body”,From the perspective of Foucault's theory of “power discipline” and some other theories of the body,the author analyzes the moral connotation contained in the body and the disciplinary effect of power on the body,so as to explain the ethical concern about the body.In the part of “the ethical narrative of the body”,from the perspective of Liu xiaofeng's narrative ethics,this paper analyzes the important role of the body in the ethical narrative of literature,ethics and narrative are perfected through the “body”.The Third chapter combines with the classic theme of aestheticism,respectively from the “body” of aesthetic present,body image of the characters in the novel aestheticism construction and aesthetic significance of the body writing three dimensions,to analyze the internal relation between the body theory and the aestheticism theory of Oscar Wilde,as well as how to present its aestheticism views through the body writing,in a word,the body is the symbolization of aestheticism,and return of the literature of perceptual life.In a word,“body” has becomes the key words of the picture of Dorian Gray,and “body consciousness” is an element that can't be ignored in Wilde's literary works,especially in this book,body writing has become an important dimension for individual,ethics and aesthetic thinking,enriched the connotations of literary works.
