The Japanese British writer Kazuo Ishiguro,is renowned as one of the Three Greatest Immigrants in British Literature together with Salman Rushdie and Vidiadhar Surajprasad Naipaul.As an immigrant,Kazuo Ishiguro does not limit his creative vision to the writing of cross-cultural identity anxiety and cultural conflict topics which immigrant writers usually focus on,but instead focuses on the outstanding problems in the contemporary world and the universal spiritual dilemma of human beings,which reflects the broad world consciousness and profound literary sentiment.The Swedish academy has awarded the2017 Nobel Prize in literature to kazuo ishiguro,affirms his contribution to contemporary world literature.Contemporary world literature exhibits the globality of vision field,the diversity of creative themes,the reflection of contemporary civilization,and the post-modernity of creative methods.Such as postmodernist creation with distinctive characteristics of the era and broad cultural horizons,the revival of historical writing and historical subject literature,the reflection of scientific and technological civilization and ecological literature,consumption culture and urban literature creation,online literature,and post-9.11 literature,etc.,the cosmopolitan social thoughts and literary trends continue to exchanges and collisions.Kazuo Ishiguro’s writing benefits from the development of world literature in the context of globalization and the collision of diverse cultures.At the same time,Kazuo Ishiguro’s anti-traditional writing and international novel creation also contributed to world literature.The "contemporary world literature perspective" in this thesis means "to look at the themes and creation methods concerned by world literature in the context of contemporary world literature".This thesis is not an analysis and thematic elaboration of Kazuo Ishiguro’s concrete works,but has always placed his creation of seven novels in the perspective of contemporary world literature to investigate his different aspects of contribution to contemporary world literature.The research of this thesis is based on the following research ideas: First,expounds the basic situation and the focus themes of contemporary world literature as the background for the analysis of kazuo ishiguro’s significance in contemporary world literature;Second,make a whole grasp of the creative thinking of Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel creation,and clarify his goals of international fiction and world literature consciousness which reflected in his novel creation.Third,from the perspective of the themes which contemporary world literature concerned to analysis the inheritance and innovation of the theme of world literature in kazuo ishiguro’s novels;Fourth,a comparative study is made between Kazuo ishiguro’s literary creation and contemporary writers of similar themes to further explore the unique significance of Kazuo ishiguro’s literary creation to contemporary world literature;Fifth,on the basis of the foregoing discussion,summarizes and demonstrates kazuo ishiguro’s contributions and pioneering significance to world literature in terms of novel themes and creative techniques.This thesis holds that kazuo ishiguro’s contemporary world literature significance lies in the following: First,it continues and deepens the discourse and themes concerned by the contemporary world literature with the uniqueness of narration,the universality of the theme,the commonality of human beings of the "nobody" and the frontier and diversity of the theme.Second,in the novel creation,he always breaks the existing novel form,great attention to the translation and circulation of works,takes anti-traditional writing and internationalized novels as the creative vision,broadens the writing and narrative space of traditional novels.His novel creation is an epistemological and methodological approach to world literature in the multicultural era and his works provides a new thinking of the development direction of contemporary world literature;Third,in the writing of international novel,he constantly breaks through the reader’s established cultural view,perspective and even prejudice,urges readers to think about their relationship with the world,and trains readers to form a global vision and an open and inclusive mentality.The readers with global vision will strongly promote the prosperity and development of world literature.Fourth,the international novel writers which represented by kazuo ishiguro,regard the various nationality cultural as a resource or material that can be "Shared",enriching the connotation of "world literature".
