Objective: To explore the relationship between mobile phone addiction,self-esteem,and self-identity among college students,and to provide a theoretical basis for solving the problem of mobile phone addiction among college students.It is hoped to promote university students to understand the dangers of excessive use of mobile phones,improve bad behaviors,use smart phones rationally,and promote the development of psychological health and social functions of university students.Methods: In this study,a total of 1,800 college students in 5 colleges and universities were surveyed using a smartphone addiction scale,self-esteem scale,and self-identity scale.A total of 1,725 questionnaires were recovered,188 invalid questionnaires were excluded,and 1537 valid questionnaires remained.Among them,643 were male and894 were female;228 were 18 and under,1198 were 19-21,and 111 were 22 and over;958 were undergraduates and 579 were college students.Results:(1)The average score of smartphone addiction among college students is 59.78,and the overall use of smartphones by college students has not yet reached the level of addiction.The average monthly living expenses of different majors were statistically significant in the tendency of college students' smartphone addiction(P<0.05).(2)The average score of college students' self-esteem is 28.5,which is at the uppermiddle level.Different birthplaces,monthly family income,father's education level,and mother's education level were statistically significant in college students' selfesteem(P <0.05).(3)There were 1197 college students in the status of identity diffusion(D status),accounting for 77.88% of the total sample,and 61 students in identity status(A status),accounting for 3.97% of the total sample.Different majors and fathers' education levels are statistically significant in the three dimensions of the college student's selfidentity status scale;different genders are statistically significant in the "want to invest in the future";different grades are in the "past crisis" and "The desire for selfinvestment in the future" is statistically significant;the monthly income of different families is statistically significant in the "crisis of the past",and the educational level of different mothers has "the self-investment in the present" and "the desire to selfinvest in the future" Statistical significance(P<0.05).(4)The smartphone addiction of college students was significantly negatively correlated with self-esteem(P<0.001);the smartphone addiction of college students was significantly negatively correlated with self-identity(P<0.001).The two factors of self-esteem and self-identity,"current self-investment" and "future self-investment",are predictors of smartphone addiction and have significant predictive power for smartphone addiction(P<0.001).It had the greatest effect on the tendency of college students' addiction to smartphones(B=-0.724).Conclusion: The use of smart phones by college students has not yet reached the level of addiction,but there are still some students who are not optimistic about mobile phone addiction.Improving the self-esteem level of college students and actively promoting the development of college students 'self-identity is conducive to suppressing the tendency of college students' smartphone addiction.
