During the Anti-Japanese War,the social education aiming at all the people here budded in Taihang district,which is a kind of basic education for the purpose of illiteracy eliminating and defense mobilizing of the Anti-Japanese War with always committed to the policy of serving the war,production and people's needs in the carrying out process.The Wuxiang and Zuoquan two counties under the jurisdiction of district was selected for analyzing the specific situation of the organization system,the content,the form,the faculty,textbooks and other various aspects of social education and exploring the concrete implementation of the social education policy of Taihang under the leadership of the Communist Party of China in each administrative division at all levels,hoping that these can be used as a microcosm and example of social education so as to have a glimpse of panorama of local's social education development.The background and reason of social education are firstly introduced,then the war and education circumstances before the establishment of Taihang district,traced the tradition of social education of Communist Part of China in Soviet area and analyzed the necessity of social education,subsequently sorted out the stages,goals,tasks,policies,the development process and sources of funds and equipment of social education in different periods,and finally periodically divided the overall development of social education.From this point of view,factors affecting the education are analyzed both internally and externally.The implementing effect of social education is summarized and problems of developing process are also evaluated at last.Basically,the education had improved the political literacy and social customs of the masses,played an active role in the promotion of internal reform in rural areas and the transformation to modern society,and at the same time strengthened the public's recognition of the Communist Part of China regime,though the education inevitably had some flaws due to the limitation of historical conditions and other factors.By summarizing the experience and lessons in the development process,it could be explored that the significance for transforming from "giant education country" to "powerful education country" for China,it could also cope with the current crisis of rural education,and leads to the thinking on contemporary socialeducation reform and on rural revitalization and development.
