This report is based on the translation practice of the short Story Two Way Stretch(Excerpt III)which was written by Australian writer Glen Phillips.The third part of Two Way Stretch is about the conflicts after the two brothers arrived at the elder brother's fiancee's home.After a series of twists and turns in the rest of the journey,they finally returned to their hometown without any danger.The short story is characterized by sharp writing style,humorous language and distinctive dialogue.Under the guidance of Domestication and Foreignization,the translator has completed the translation practice of Two Way Stretch(Excerpt III),and summed up the translation difficulties and translation methods in the translation process.This translation practice report is divided into four parts.The first part introduces the background of the translation task,the language features of the short story and the related literature review.The second part introduces the preparation and process of translation in detail.The third part sums up the difficulties and solutions in the translation process of Two Way Stretch(Excerpt III),and especially explains the translation methods of culture-loaded words through specific cases,such as semantic Extension,four-Character words,transplant and annotation.The fourth part is the summary and reflections of this translation practice.It is hoped that this translation text and practice report can help the spread of Australian literature and provide reference for literary translation.
