| Mythology is an important branch of many cultures,which covers history,humanity,religion and other rich contents to meet people’s pursuit of ideals and the worship of the power beyond instinct.The famous fairy tales of Pangu Kaitian and Nuwa Mending The Sky all reflect the Chinese people’s persistent spirit to realize their personal ideals.It can be seen that the myth is always a flag that inspires the Chinese people to keep their heads up.The story sets off the characters,the mythical image is the performer of the mythical story,and people’s belief in the myth begins with the characters who give great power.In the past,mythological content was recorded by oral explanation,written record or specific behavior,for example,the important achievements of reproducing mythological image in the form of novels,dances,operas,etc.Nowadays,the efficient operation of new media has broadened the communication channels,and the high integration of technology and culture has provided innovative ideas for the modern expression of myths.The combination of sound and image has become a popular form to express the meaning of myth,and many wonderful works have emerged.As a cultural and creative industry,animation film has more advantages in the construction of such cross space-time content.Animators are constantly searching for breakthroughs in the modeling and connotation innovation of mythical characters,collecting more available materials for the creation of mythical characters,and making the traditional mythical images glow under new light.As the protagonist of myth,the image of mythological character bears the brand of times culture.The appearance of mythological characters is early and fictitious.They do not form the specific standards of character features in the public mind,which improves the plasticity and mystery of mythological characters in animation films.Visual symbols in animated films annotate the mythical characters to show the magic power of ancient mythical images with vivid and interesting communication effects,greatly expanding the audience’s imagination space of Chinese mythical culture;at the same time,they also expand the traditional communication channels with the help of this kind of imaging and artistic means to deepen people’s cultural memory and deliver profound Culture.Nowadays,the mythical characters in domestic animation films attach great importance to the external,and the situation of lacking the internal is still common.The creation of mythical characters by visual symbols is not only the pursuit of visual beauty,but also the creation of animated characters full of the essence of myths by following certain procedures.The purpose of this paper is to study the typical mythical characters in domestic animation films,and to explore a favorable design idea for the future creation of mythical characters in animation films by using the theory of mythical culture,semiotics,animation character design and so on.The subject is divided into several parts for research:first,extract the Chinese mythology as the expression content and the visual symbols as the expression form from the media environment of the animated films,and establish the relationship between the two parts so as to understand the presentation state of the mythological characters in the animated films;second,through the concrete analysis of the mythological characters in domestic animated films,this paper further excavates the application characteristics and value of visual symbols in mythological animated characters from the relationship between symbols and roles;Third,based on the classification of ancient mythological images,this paper analyzes how the visual symbols in animation film embody their personality characteristics and even more profound meanings when they create mythological animation characters.To sum up,this topic takes ancient Chinese mythology as the source,and takes the mythological characters in domestic animated films as the main research object.The purpose of this paper is to explore the application mode of visual symbols in the role shaping of mythological animation:select the key information words for the use of visual symbols from the background of role formation;take the key words as the core,set the visual symbol style with the aesthetic of the times as the standard,match the symbol with the role,and create a mythological animation character with mythological connotation and innovation. |
