Study On Japanese Cultural Diplomacy After Cold War

Since the end of the cold war,the world has undergone remarkable changes,and the trend of multi-polarization is gradually becoming more prominent.With the world's call for peace and development growing louder,the world's expectations for military,political and other aspects of hard power are increasingly declining,correspondingly,the soft power with culture as the core as a new carrier of the world game pattern is constantly being valued and developed.Based on the new international situation and the expansion of diplomatic methods,cultural diplomacy,as the embodiment of soft power in the diplomatic level,has gradually become an important choice of international strategy and governance.Japan has become the second largest economy in the world in the 1990s,and the continuous improvement of its economic strength is not enough to satisfy Japan's desire for a "political power".Therefore,cultural diplomacy has become its primary strategic choice in Japan with certain advantages in cultural industry.In the process of cultural diplomacy,Japan has made use of its advantages in resources and technology,promoted the combination of traditional culture and popular culture,absorbed and borrowed from foreign cultures,and formed a political and diplomatic cultural system with Japanese characteristics.By promoting the animation industry,strengthening cultural exchanges,developing Japanese language education and strengthening foreign aid,Japan has not only improved its national image and voice,but also expanded its influence at home and abroad and consolidated and improved its international status.Therefore,this paper objectively evaluates the value of Japanese cultural diplomacy,and dialectically looks at its advantages and disadvantages by analyzing its historical context,communication mode and theoretical support,so as to draw lessons and experience from it,so as to better promote the construction of cultural industry and cultural undertakings and continuously promote the practice of Chinese cultural diplomacy.
