Ancient tomb murals are one of the precious remains of early paintings in China.Affected by environmental and human factors, ancient tomb murals often have varying degrees of shedding, mildew, smoke and other diseases.Among them, the original information of the murals was seriously damaged due to the shedding, which caused great challenges for manual restoration.Virtual restoration of the shedding disease based on computer technology can not only avoid the secondary damage caused by manual restoration to the murals, but also improve the accuracy and efficiency of manual restoration with the guidance of virtual restoration results. To this end, this article has conducted the following research on shedding diseases existing in the ancient tomb murals:(1)A shedding calibration method based on the combination of multi-structural morphology operations and improved regional growth was proposed.Firstly, convert the mural image to the YCrCb color space to obtain the luminance and chrominance component images;secondly, use the high and low cap operations to process each component image to enhance the edge of the shedding area;thirdly, build a multi-structural morphological filter to smooth the noise of the image;then each component mask image is obtained by growing the shedding area, and the component masks are fused;finally, the fused mask image and the original mural are calculated to obtain the final calibration result.(2)A shedding repair method based on the combination of color space and structural similarity was proposed.Firstly, convert the mural image to the HSV color space to introduce chroma, saturation and brightness features;secondly, determine the priority of the shedding boundary point through the confidence items and data items;thirdly, define a new block matching criterion and obtain the best matching block to replace the block to be repaired, according to the global search of the structure similarity between the block to be repaired andthe matched block;finally, the repair result is converted into RGB color space to obtain the final repair result.(3)Designed and implemented a virtual restoration display system for the damaged ancient tomb murals. The repair system adopts Graphical User Interface design and development in Matlab, which is divided into two modules: calibration and repair. The shedding calibration module mainly includes functions such as color space conversion, shedding area segmentation and calibration result generation;the shedding repair module mainly includes functions such as shedding area repair and repair result saving.
