During the Chunqiu period,Shandong area generally included Huaxia and Dongyi.Although Dongyi nationality was influenced by Huaxia,however,it was quite different from Huaxia culture.This is particularly evident in burial customs.The hierarchy of coffins of various states of the Dongyi nationality was mainly reflected in the use of the coffin.The weight of the coffin was generally more than or equal to the weight of the coffin.In terms of the customs of the container,different from that of the Huaxia,the burial containers of the Dongyi states were placed in specially constructed containers.There are also differences between the Dongyi and the Huaxia in the custom of funeral bronze instruments.For example,in the combination of food utensils,Dongyi used odd or even combination tripod of the same size.In the combination of wine vessels,Dongyi used various types of wine vessels.In terms of the combination of water vessels,in addition to the large number of water vessels used in the tombs of the state lords of the Dongyi,the number of all kinds of water vessels in most tombs is only one,some of the tombs of the emperors also use a bath stool.On the combination of instruments,when compiling chimes on stone-chime,king tombs also USES large percussion Chunyu.Compared with the non-burial or burial of a small number of pottery in the tombs of the Huaxia,the Dongyi buried a large number of pottery in their tombs during the spring and autumn period,with the most typical tombs in Jiaodong region,with the number of burial pottery up to hundreds.In the aspect of the custom of martyrdom,different from the rare martyrdom in the Huaxia tombs,the custom of martyrdom was very popular in the Dongyi during the Chunqiu period.In terms of the custom of waist pit,the custom of burying dogs in waist pit was prevalent in the tombs of the Dongyi during the Chunqiu period.In terms of other burial customs,in terms of the burial positions of princes and nobles,the tombs of the sovereigns of various states of Huaxia were located in or near the capital city,whilethe tombs of the sovereigns of the Dongyi were mostly far away from the capital city.In terms of the direction of burial,the north direction of Huaxia tombs was mainly,while the east direction of Dongyi tombs was mostly.As far as the burial carriage and horse pit is concerned,Huaxia were popular in the open car burial,and the Dongyi were generally buried with the whole horse.
