Research On Pan Zhichang’s Life Aesthetics

This paper discusses Pan Zhichang’s life aesthetics based on human life activities.Pan Zhichang put forward "Life Aesthetics" on the basis of Chinese and Western life thoughts and absorbed the essence of Chinese classical aesthetics;Focusing on "Aesthetics-Life",he interprets the important problems of aesthetics and probes into the classical works of Chinese tradition.He explains his view of life aesthetics with his works,then probes into the present situation of Chinese aesthetics since the new period,and constructs his own life aesthetics theory.The full text tries to probe into Pan Zhichang’s thinking context and ways of study from three aspects: the theoretical construction and the life spirit in the artistic view of life aesthetics.Thus,it can provide a useful reference for the creative interpretation of Chinese traditional culture and the vigorous development of Chinese contemporary culture.In addition to the introduction,this paper has three parts:The first part focuses on the theoretical construction of Pan Zhichang’s life aesthetics.Ancient and modern classical Chinese and western philosophy laid a solid aesthetic foundation for Pan Zhichang’s life aesthetics,and integrated the western Schopenhauer’s philosophy of life with the life theories of Confucianism,Taoism and Buddhism in China.In his later period,based on Heidegger’s existentialism and Christianity’s faith,hope and love,he put forward that aesthetics needs "faith dimension".The second part focuses on Pan Zhichang’s view of life aesthetics centered on "human life activities".Pan Zhichang opposes the view that practical aesthetics "values practice rather than aesthetics" and regards aesthetic activities as practical activities.He put forward the view that "aesthetics is a unique activity of human life",and with this basic viewpoint as the core,he discussed the connotation of beauty,the description of aesthetic and production,life and experience and other important aesthetic issues,and injected "the dimension of belief" into his thought.It constitutes the basic thought of his view of life aesthetics.The third part focuses on Pan Zhichang’s interpretation of the wisdom of life in the spirit of Chinese classical literature.In his later theory,Pan Zhichang added the concept of "love" to his life aesthetics."Love" is the "love of saints" and "love for no reason".This part mainly explains the relationship and necessity between the beauty of life and love.He regards Chinese and western classical literature works with "love",reinterprets these literary classics with his own life aesthetics thought,searches for the key of life aesthetics in the literary classics,and reveals the basic characteristics of the literary classics which have a long charm.
