Research On Xu Xiaolin's Five Guzheng Works

Guzheng is a plucked string instrument with a long history and a large number of excellent works have been circulated through the ages.In the 1980 s,a series of reforms began to emerge in traditional guzheng music,o f which Xu Xiaolin was one of the outstanding figures.Xu Xiaolin paid close attentio n to the national instrumental music and devoted himself to the practice.He created t ouching works and added a heavy touch to the development of Guzheng with his uni que design and performance.In this paper,Xu Xiaolin's five guzheng works " leaning on autumn"," mountain charm"," scene three chapters"," lyric fantasia" and " Qian zhong fu" are selected fo r research.This paper analyzes the creation theme,structure,mode and scale,melody development technique,music texture and music performance of these five guzheng w orks,and further obtains the creation characteristics of Xu Xiaolin guzheng works.This thesis consists of preface,the first chapter is about the theme analysis of Xu Xiaolin's five guzheng works,the second chapter is about the structure and form ana lysis of Xu Xiaolin's guzheng works,the third chapter is about the mode and scale an alysis of Xu Xiaolin's guzheng works,the fourth chapter is about the melody develop ment technique analysis of Xu Xiaolin's guzheng works,the fifth chapter is about the music texture analysis of Xu Xiaolin's guzheng works,and the sixth chapter is about music performance.In the preface,the author mainly introduces the background of Ms.Xu Xiaolin's creation and summarizes the content of the paper.In the first chapte r,according to the different themes of creation,the author gives a separate introductio n to Xu Xiaolin's five zither songs.In the second chapter,the structure of these work s is analyzed one by one with the clue of the musical structure diagram.The third ch apter analyzes the scale of the five zither tunes and compares it with the traditional modes.The fourth chapter briefly analyzes the melody development techniques of the se works.The fifth chapter makes a horizontal and vertical comparison of the texture of these works.The sixth chapter,starting with the performance techniques,respectively introduces the embodiment of traditional performance techniques and modern perfo rmance techniques in the works.
