The number of stone inscriptions in Han Dynasty unearthed in the past is numerous,rich in content,and has many values.The study of stone inscriptions in Han Dynasty has focused on art,history and academic history as yet.Although there are many interpretations of the text,it is still imperfect and has many problems.In view of this,this thesis intends to present some views on some difficult characters and words in stone inscriptions in Han Dynasty.The main contents of this thesis are as follows:The first part is Exordium,including three sections.Section One is the Research Object,which defines the research object of this thesis;Section Two is Literature Review,which introduces research results related to texts of stone inscriptions in Han Dynasty during last three decades;Section Three is Problems in studies of Stone Inscriptions in Han Dynasty,which illustrates problems in related studies centred in Emendation and gloss on the Inscriptions of the Han and Six Dynasties from five aspects,invoving 30 cases of correction of this book;Section Four is about research methods of this thesis.The second part is the Fragmentary Interpretation of Stone Inscriptions in Han Dynasty,including three separate articles:The Interpretation of Character Ke(?)of Inscription in Guishan No.2 Han Tomb proves that the old interpretation of the so-called Chu Gu Shi Wang(????)must be changed to Chu Ke Wang(???),according to clear photos and related characters.The meaning of Ke(?)is still to be studied.The Interpretation of the relation between name and style name in San Lao(??)Stele proves that the name Tong(?)and style name Jie(?)of San Lao(??)have an antisense relationship,and there is no meaning relationship between his grandson's name and style name.Three cases of Interpretation of Characters and Words in Meng Xiaoju Stele focuses on three unsettled quetions:? in the fourth line should be transcribed to Ping(?),which means the magical name Ping(?)of Jian-chu divination;the meaning of Yi(?)in the eighth line is 'irregular',which is extended from 'slanted';Dian Qiu(??)in the seventh line is used as Shen Qiu(??),whose meaning is 'tomb'.The third part is One Example of Using stone inscriptions in Han Dynasty for Interpreting Ancient Scripts:Question on the So-called Yi(?)in Ancient Scripts,which also proves that there is no relationship between Yi(?)and Yi(?).The fourth part is Summary,which summarizes our work of this thesis and its shortcomings,and make a prospect for the future study of stone inscriptions in Han Dynasty.
