Song Dynasty is the crucial period during the development of Confucianism,in which Confucian scholars established new Confucius system and regulates its guidelines to social life,thus,changed the long-period situation that momentum of Confucianism was weaker than Buddhism and Taoism.During the development of Confucianism,New Learning and Neo-Confucianism are the most representative schools,whose relations should not ignored,which are in the framework of Song Learning.Whether in the field of politics or academics,the relation between New Learning and Neo-Confucianism exerts significant impact on the development of Chinese philosophy.Therefore,this paper conducts research on the relation under the background of Confucianism during the period of Song dynasty.The paper will illustrate the relation in three parts.The first part is the introduction that mainly illustrates the beginning,value and status quo of relation between New Learning and Neo-Confucianism during the Song Dynasty.The second part is the main body that includes:1.The origin of New Learning and Neo-Confucianism.It introduces the historical background of the emergence of New Learning and NeoConfucianism,which includes economic foundation,political background,and ideology origin and then discusses their development respectively.2.The theoretical structures of New Learning and Neo-Confucianism as well as their similarities and differences.It probes into the theoretical structures of New Learning and Neo-Confucianism and analyzes their similarity and difference.3.Research based on the relation between New Learning and Neo-Confucianism during the Northern Song Dynasty period.The Northern Song Dynasty is the period when the reform bandwagon was high and when the New Learning was established thanks to the enormous influence exerted by official schools.Therefore,this session firstly states the relation between New Learning and Neo-Confucianism and then discusses the influence exerted on Neo-Confucianism by New Learning.4.Research based on the relation between New Learning and Neo-Confucianism during the Southern Song Dynasty period.The Southern Song Dynasty was the peaceful and contented period after the fierce political turmoil in which both the development of society and Confucianism underwent tremendous transformation.At this time,the status of New Learning and NeoConfucianism was completely different from the Northern Song Dynasty.Thus,this paper illustrates the transformative relation between New Learning and Neo-Confucianism during the turmoil and discusses the criticism about the New Learning from NeoConfucianism scholars.Actually,it was the criticism from Neo-Confucianism scholars on New Learning that made the New Learning lose its place and made the NeoConfucianism become the official school in the later period of the Southern Song Dynasty.5.Discussion about the influence and enlightenment brought by the growth and decline of the two schools.The third part is conclusion.It mainly illustrates the results and shortages of the research and offers the suggestive research direction henceforth.
