Technology & Process:A Study Of Interpretation Management

The acceleration of globalization process has spawned a large number of social needs for the translation industry.This study focuses on the application of frontier technologies and the application of management processes in interpreting management and their relationship.First of all,this study introduces the theory and principles of project management,and discusses the feasibility of project management theory in interpreting projects.Based on the project management theory,the author classifies the common problems in the existing interpreting project process,and conducts in-depth analysis and discussion,applying the project management theory to the interpreting project process.It is hoped that the interpreting model in the interpreting company will be transformed into a project management mode,interpreting project management.In this thesis,the author introduces several pioneering techniques that have been applied to interpreting activities by many people around the world.And the author also introduces the application of the frontier technologies and their application in the management of interpretation projects.In the research,the author employ case analysis and literature research methods draws on conceptions from process management as well,to explore the application significance of translation technology in interpretation project management,and draws the following conclusions:(1)the application of project process management theory in interpreting projects improves translation quality: interpretation memory,term base application,feedback customer experience,ensure translation quality;(2)interpretation technology,especially the application of frontier technologies such as CAI,AI,will greatly reduce the pressure on interpreters and shorten the time for interpretation;(3)interpretation technology reduces the cost of interpretation: It is now possible to accomplish the same workload with fewer people;(4)the application of the project management process theory optimizes the interpretation project,and the various stages of the interpretation project are more complete and easier to cooperate.This paper is believed to have:(1)implications for interpreting companies,clients and interpreting services;(2)actively promote theoretical research on interpretation project management;(3)promote the optimization of interpreting project processes and promote the development of interpreting industry.(4)promote the application of frontier technologies in interpretation,and hope that interpreters can combine frontier technologies.
