Research On The Transformation Of High-Tech City Of Boston In The 20th Century

Boston is the capital and largest city of Massachusetts,and one of the oldest cities in American history.In the history of Boston’s urban development,urban transformation can be its one of historical labels.From the beginning of Boston’s construction in the 17 th century to the end of the 20 th century,Boston experienced three different types of cities: port city from 1630 to the beginning of the 19 th century,industrial city from the beginning of the 19 th century to the beginning of the 20 th century,and high-tech city from the 1920 s to the present.Moreover,in the process of Boston’s development as a high-tech city in the 20 th century,Route 128,as its high-tech industrial clustering,has undergone three internal transformation of high-tech industries.Boston is the leading city in the history of the United States in terms of economy,culture and technology.Historically,Boston,which has undergone many transformations,especially the three transformations of high-tech industries in the 20 th century,still maintains its strong strength,which deserves our attention.Starting from the history of Boston’s urban development,this paper focuses on the transformation of Boston’s high-tech city centered on Route 128 in the 20 th century,and summarizes the reasons for Boston’s innovative changes and experiences for reference.This paper consists of three parts,introduction,body and conclusion.The introduction part mainly elaborates the reasons for choosing the topic,the significance of the research,the current research situation,the research ideas and methods.The main body is divided into three chapters:The first chapter is a historical review of Boston’s establishment and development before the 20 th century,and also an analysis of Boston’s transition from a port trading city to an industrial city before the 20 th century.The second chapter is the key chapter of this paper.Focusing on Boston Route128,this paper discusses the process of Boston’s transformation from an industrialcity to a high-tech city in the 1920 s,and the causes and consequences of the three major transformations that Boston Route 128 has experienced in its development process as a typical high-tech district in the United States in the past century.The third chapter mainly analyses and discusses the inspiration of Boston 128 Highway District development and Boston’s development prospects as an important high-tech city in the United States.The concluding part is a summary of the whole paper,and explores the reference role of Boston’s urban innovation and transformation experience for China’s urban construction and development.Focusing on the development of Boston Route 128 and the transformation of high-tech industries,this paper makes a thorough study of the reasons for the transformation of Boston’s urban development and its future development prospects.It can not only understand the characteristics and laws of the development of high-tech cities under the background of modernization,but also provide reference for the cities in urgent need of transformation in China.
