A Report On The Interpretation Of The 4th China (International) Commercial Aerospace Summit

On September 26,2018,the 4th China(International)Commercial Aerospace Summit was held in Wuhan.The theme is “Leading Commercial Aerospace Overview of Industry Development”.The practical report is based on this forum as a material and the interpreter uses Gile's Effort Model to guide the entire interpretation process.At the same time,the interpreter uses Rozan's Note-taking in Consecutive Interpreting to analyze the specific process,and get the summary and reflection.In the practice of interpreting,the interpreter encountered a large number of professional domain vocabulary and some medical vocabulary.In addition,due to the huge amount of information,it takes a certain amount of time to take notes.These difficulties make it difficult for the interpreter to quickly,accurately and completely note down all the speeches of the speaker in a short period of time.According to Gile's Effort Model,the interpreter's energy in the process of interpreting practice is limited.Therefore,it is necessary for the interpreter to consciously integrate the listening of source language,short-term memory,target language output and energy coordination to achieve an ideal process of producing a good delivery.According to Rozan's interpreting notes,different strategies can be used in the notes,such as the symbolic method,the vertical note method,alongside with the contextual deduction,conversion,inversion and proper omission strategies to save effort and improve the quality of output.The report is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is a description of the task,including the background and significance of the practice.The second chapter is a description of the process,including pre-interpretation preparation,interpreting process and post-interpreting quality control.The third chapter is case analysis,which introduces the guiding theories and principles used,and also introduces the difficulties encounteredin interpretation and solutions.The forth chapter is a summary,summarizing the experience and shortcomings of this interpretation practice,and providing guidance for future interpretation practice.This practical report aims to enable interpreters to exercise their interpreting ability in the application of Gile's Effort Model through this practice,find their own shortcomings in practice and correct them,and play a reference for future interpretation practice.
