Trans-editing Huanqiu Leads For Weird News:A Perspective Of Reception Aesthetics

With the increasingly close international cultural exchanges and the rapid development of online media,the mode of thinking,communication methods and lifestyles of people have been increasingly diversified.At the same time,the modern lifestyle has brought more and more mental pressure to people.As a result,the entertainment trend of global media has become more prominent which has set higher demands on the quality of international news translation.This paper is a practice report based on the author's translation experience of Huanqiu weird news under the guidance of the Reception Aesthetics.During the process of translation,the author finds that most of the translation of Huanqiu weird news leads fall into the category of trans-editing.Trans-edited versions are expected to conform to the values of the Chinese leads and gear to the reading preference and aesthetic habits of the Chinese readers.Consequently,the author selects 950 pieces of bilingual weird news leads as a corpus to analyze,in an effort to propose three macro trans-editing rules namely,rule of readers' expectation,rule of readers' perspective and rule of readers' language as well as micro approaches to the leads of news on social events,animal stories,criminal events and folk culture based on their topics,perspectives and languages.This report will hopefully shed light on the practice of subsequent intern trans-editors of Huanqiu Weird News Channel and provide references for translation teaching and research in this particular field.
