Lu Xun's "Free-Talk" essays mainly refer to his short commentaries published in the"Free-Talk"of the Shun Pao between January 1933 and November 1934,whose most prominent feature is that he anatomizes the operation of power.By means of interpretating Lu Xun's "Free-Talk" essays,it can be recognized that Lu Xun's focus of criticism experiences the transition from politics,society to culture.There are two mian reasons for it:on the one hand,Lun Xun was under the suppression of speech policies at that time;on the other hand,Lu Xun gradually deepens his anatomy of the bad phenomena in China and the reasons behind it.In a large number of typical anatomy,Lu Xun exposes the grid structure of power production and operation from three dimensions,political power,social power and cultural power.These powers interwines and discipline people's minds and bodies.Political power is the most representative part of the power system.Lu Xun ridicules and criticizes the authorities and the literati who have close association and juridical-political allegiance with the authorities via decoding their discourse.Social power is a more invisible part of the power system,and it also reveals the grid structure of power.Lu Xun presents the discipline of power and the production of power through the anatomy of the tiny behaviors in society.Cultural power is the most ingrained part of the power system.Lu Xun unveils the great power of the character by anatomizing the traditional Chinese character and culture system.He also challenges the traditional Chinese character power system with the verbal practice of "Fengyue" and"Fengyun".
