As a new artistic style film,it has been drawing art resources from other mature artistic styles since its birth, and gradually explored the artistic laws that conform to its own characteristics and development path.Among them,no matter the theoretical construction or creative practice of China and the West, there is a complex relationship between film and drama with aesthetic commonalities, and dramatic adaptation of film is the explicit external relationship in this interactive exchange, and runs through the whole development process of film. With regard to themethodologists and significance of dramatic adaptation of movies,André Bazin,a French film theoretician and critic, advocates that such adaptation should respect the original dramatic works, use the film scene scheduling to retain the theatrical stage format and theatrical relationship,so that the audience can obtain the same aesthetic pleasure as the original dramatic works in the film reception,so as to achieve dramatic promotion of movies and film rescue of the drama. In the early days of Chinese film,it has established a deep historical relationship with the "civilized drama" from the beginning of nationalization and localization. The phenomenon of drama adaptation into film has also been accompanied by the history of Chinese film development.According to the characteristics of drama adaptation into films in different social contexts,Chinese drama adaptation into films can be divided into four stages: the early stage of the founding of New China? the "17 years" and "Cultural Revolution" period of New China? the period of reform and opening up?and the period of new century.Chinese drama includes two art forms: traditional drama and drama, though the adaptation of film from traditional drama is an important adaptation resource for early Chinese film,Its attempt to adapt a film has also begun in the 1930 s as a foreign drama form of local stage play. But until the new era,the adaptation of film from Chinese classic drama has been forming the typical text of the drama adaptation into films. After entering the new century, the market tendencies of the literary ecological environment have become more and more fierce under the contemporary cultural context of consumerism and postmodernism. This not only impacts the living environment of the drama, but also changes the strategy of the adaptation of films from classical drama. With the development of new technologies, film art is more expressive and powerful, but this article believes that the classic drama adaptation should follow Bazin's adaptation theory, that is,respect the classic original, with cinematic techniques to retain the drama energy and reproduce the essence and value of the original in the face of such a strong audio-visual language advantage. In view of this, this paper selects three domestic original plays that have been adapted into films in this period, for instance, the modern classic drama "Tea House","Thunderstorm" and the contemporary classic drama "Dark Love Peach Blossom Source".In the light of Bazin's drama-film adaptation theory, this article focuses on the analysis of the successes and failures of the classic drama adaptation film in China since the new era.In the meantime, this article draws the experience of Shakespeare's drama adaptation and explores the adaptation of drama in the context of Chinese contemporary culture. At last, this article want to clarify how to make use of the advantage of films and drama to preserve the drama character of the classic drama and use the advanced technology of the film to explore the dramatic technology of more expressive and aesthetic value.
