A Study On The Application Of Surrealistic Painting Language In The 20th Century In Contemporary Chinese New Painting

Surrealist painting,as the most influential art school in the Western modern art movement,poured into China in the early 20 th century and has a tentative reflection with it.With the collision of Chinese and Western art,a group of students studying in Japan established the early Chinese painting organization on surrealism under the influence of the style wave — the China Independent Art Association,in which artists represented by Zhao Be,Liang Xihong and Li Dongping began to introduce the theory of surrealist painting in China.In the 1980 s,along with the pace of reform and opening up,a large number of Western modern art theories and thoughts poured into the country,and more and more artists began to accept new art theories and thoughts,and integrated them into their own works.Among them,surrealism painting,which is famous for its unique artistic expression and visual description,also gave many artists new inspiration.After 30 years of development of contemporary Chinese art,the concept and form of surrealism art was still favored by many artists.They used all kinds of surrealism forms and characteristics to reveal the secret of psychological and real weird feeling,and the intense uneasiness and strangeness in the face of the surrounding world.Those endless works are not only the continuous exploration and advancement of artists in their own fields,but also the reflection of the current universal cultural dilemma of mankind.The development of art is always based on a certain political atmosphere and cultural needs.In the process of Chinese contemporary art,the various forms of surrealist painting in different periods are also based on this.This paper does not select the art phenomena such as New Generation”,Cynical Realism,Political Pop Art,Gaudy Art and so on,which used the Western Modernist pattern since the 85 Art Trends campaign and won the international reputation in the 1990 s.Instead,it selects a group of representative artists emerging at the end of the 20 th century when Chinese contemporary painting entered the period of linguistic self-consciousness and explores the surrealistic intertextual relationship between their works and the social background,living environment and realistic values of the time.On the basis of a comprehensive understanding of the surrealist painting language,aesthetic features and contemporary Chinese surreal painting expressions of the 20 th century,from the perspective of the surrealist factors contained in the works of art itself,this paper analyzes the origins and narrative trends of Chinese contemporary new painting artists’ works,summarizes the surrealistic painting language and the form realization of Chinese contemporary new paintings,and uses this research as the cornerstone of the painting creation.
