Self-deception is a kind of conscious motivational false belief and holds a kind of unconscious true belief which conflicts with it.Self-deception can be unconscious or conscious. In the experiment,self-deception is mainly presented through the contradiction between individual subjective reports and objective indicators, which includes two levels of self-deception.Self-deception is very common in life.It helps people reduce the cognitive load of lying, and to some extent helps individuals resist negative emotions and negative self-cognition,and increases their personal charm and subjective well-being.On the other hand, studies have shown that long-term use of self-deception to regulate psychological state may reduce the self-esteem of individuals, and even increase the risk of depression or other neurosis,so it may be proposed to study self-deception from the perspective of reducing self-deception.In fact, with the enhancement of individual selfconsciousness and self-insight,people hope to reduce self-deception,which is also consistent with the individual's desire to improve self-esteem and achieve personal growth in the counseling context. In the counseling situation,self-deception may affect the counseling relationship and counseling process as a defense mode. This raises new questions about how counselors can help individuals reduce self-deception.The original intention of this paper is to explore effective ways to reduce the level of individual selfdeception.Previous studies have pointed out that emotions affect an individual's cognitive process,so this study suspects that the self-deception of an individual in the cognitive process may be affected by emotional valence and arousal, and that individuals in the state of strong emotional arousal will self-cheat in order to adjust their psychological state and make it more adaptive. Therefore, this study explores the changes in the level of self-deception by inducing different emotions of individuals, which provides the empirical support for psychological counseling workers that "the emotional arousal of individuals affects the level of self-deception",and also provides a new perspective for those individuals who want to reduce self-deception--based on emotional intervention. The first study was a single-factor experimental design among subjects, and the variables between groups were three different emotions.A total of 73 people participated in the experiment, aiming to investigate the changes of individual self-deception level under emotional arousal state, and whether there were differences in self-deception level under three different emotional arousal states(sadness, fear and happiness). In this study, movie clips were used to activate subjects' emotions, and the dot-tracking task experimental paradigm was used to measure self-deception.In the second study,a singlefactor intergroup experiment was designed, and the intergroup variable was "whether to conduct emotional processing".A total of 69 people participated in the experiment. In this study, the dot-tracking task experimental paradigm was also used to explore the changes in the level of self-deception after the processing of individual emotions,so as to verify the effectiveness of emotion processing technology. In this study, autobiographical memory materials were used to activate individual sadness emotions, and meditation techniques were used to intervene subjects' emotions.Through the experimental research, the following conclusions are drawn:(1)compared with the neutral emotions(calm state),individuals in the emotional arousal state have a higher level of self-deception and are more prone to self-deception.There was no significant difference between negative emotional arousal state(sadness, fear)and positive emotional arousal state(happy mood).(2)through the use of counseling technology(meditation techniques)to deal with the emotions of the subjects under the sad evocation state, the individual's level of self-deception is significantly reduced.
