Conversation repair is an universal phenomenon in conversation.In 1970 s,American linguists began to study it.However,the study of conversation repair at home was from 1990 s.The main results of conversation repair are about these two aspects,the study of basic theory about conversation repair and the study of institutional conversation repair.However,most of the institutional conversation study focus on repair in English as a second language class.Few researches study conversation repair from the perspective of teaching Chinese as a second language,and the most studies are about students of the same level.Therefore,this essay tries to research conversation repair phenomenon of teacher-student interaction in intermediate and senior Chinese language class.This essay can be divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction.The introduction part mainly introduces the reason of topic selection,the research status of conversation repair,the research questions of this essay,the theoretical framework and the main study methods.The second part is the study about the repair patterns from the initiator and the completer.We collect and analyze the corpus of fourty thousand words.These corpus are all from intermediate and senior Chinese language class.We compare the repair patterns between intermediate and senior Chinese language class from the perspective of qualitative and quantitative,summarize the causes of the differences.The third part is the research about the repair process.We study the initiation position,initiation method and repair strategies in teaching Chinese as a second language class.At the same time,we also summarize the differences between intermediate and senior Chinese language class during the repair process.The forth part is the study about the function of class conversation repair from the aspects of second language acquisiton and pragmatic.The fifth part is conclusion.We summarize the research results of this essay and discuss the deficiency in corpus collection and research angle.
