Hui’an women are the Han women living in Chongwu area of southest of China’s Fujian Province.For years these beautiful and bright women have been famous for their unique dresses and adornments characterized with astrong ethnic color and the fine tradition of hard work and self-denial.The traditional dress of Hui’an women isembodied with contradictory andharmonious aesthet ic elements,implying profound meanings.They wear wide-rimmed bamboo hats and wrapped headscarves which cover the neck.The bottoms their trousers legs are as wide as 0.4 meters.However,more and more young Hui’an women have found favor with fashionable attire such as jackets and jeans and few local women under 35 now wear traditional dress.It is thought that Hui’an dress will become rare within 10 years.Nowadays,the culture of Hui’an women is becoming more and more popular,because some outstanding Hui’an women is working hard on save the culture lost.As a local person,it’s my great honor to share the essence of the culture of Hui’an women through video camera.
