The "General High School English Curriculum(2017 Edition)" stated in Article 8 that teachers should change their classroom roles.From a single knowledge giver to a student learning guide,organizer,facilitator,helper,participant and collaborator,guide students to develop their own learning ability,so that students can truly become masters of learning.Therefore,it is the general trend of curriculum reform and the inevitable requirement of the new curriculum standard for teachers to realize their classroom role-switching.This survey investigated,observed and analyzed the status of classroom roles of English teachers in a high school in G city by means of questionnaire,classroom observation and interviewed in a combination of quantitative and qualitative method.It is found that there are problems such as the solidification of the teacher’s roles,the homogenization of the roles,the mismatching of the teacher’s classroom roles and the teaching contents.Specifically performed in the following ways: English teachers can not flexibly change classroom roles according to classroom needs;They lack of classroom role designing and classroom role conversion awareness.Through the data comparison and analysis,it is found that the classroom role orientation and play of English teachers directly affect students ’classroom performance and students’ learning performance.Therefore,it is particularly important to help English teachers achieve an effective transformation of their classroom roles.This is not only the specific requirement set out in the " Curriculum " but also the trend of the "whole person education" cultivation and basic forms of the curriculum reform.This study analyzed the reasons for the problem in the classroom role performance of English teachers on both teachers and students’ aspects.Finally,the author puts forward some concrete countermeasures and suggestions on how to realize the effective transformation of teacher’s classroom roles in the future teaching.It is hoped to realize the new understanding and orientation of teachers ’roles and promote English teaching and the quality of the Elementary Education.
