| The people are the foundation of the country.The concept of“people’s character” plays an important role in Xi Jinping’s literary and artistic thoughts.It is an important observation made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on the development of literature and art in the new era from the perspective of the people and from the height of promoting the development of socialist undertakings.Xi Jinping’s literary and artistic thoughts are of great guiding significance to the development of literature and arts in the new era.This paper explores the concept of“people’s character“,the core of Xi Jinping’s literary and artistic thoughts,examining comprehensively and systematically its formation and development.This thesis consists of three parts.The first part traces the development of Xi Jinping’s concept of“people’s character”.Starting by looking into Xi Jinping’s experience in performing his duties,it introduces his different views on cultural and literary and artistic thoughts in different places,and reviews the gradual formation of the concept of “people’s character”in his literary and artistic thoughts,and this part ends with a theoretical explanation of the concept of “people’s character” The thesis holds that the formation of the concept of“people’s character” can be divided into three stages: foundation-laying,development and perfection,and that “people’s character” implies the three major tenets: approaching the people,reflecting the people and being judged by the people.The thesis also analyzes the historical context in which“people’s character”in was formulated-the political political background,social background and literary and artistic background.The second part mainly discusses the specific connotation of the concept of “people’s character”.Through the analysis of the origin,connotation evolution and spiritual purpose of the concept of “people’s character”,this paper explains the “people’s character” in different periods and its contemporary value and through a comprehensive review of the main concepts of Xi Jinping’s literary and artistic thoughts,examines the position of the concept of “people’s character” in Xi Jinping’s literary and artistic thoughts,and addresses the relationship between the concept of “people’s character” and the concept of modernity and innovation.The article also analyses the phenomenon of “three vulgarities” in literary and artistic circles,and discusses how the concept of “people’s character” rejects “three vulgarities ” by claiming that literature and arts cannot be hijacked by the market,that literature and arts should carry on cultural traditions,and that literature and arts should seek innovation.The third part summarizes the first two parts,and puts forward the guiding significance of the concept of “people’s character” to thedevelopment of literature and arts from three dimensions.On the one hand,it enriches and improves Marxist literary and artistic thoughts;on the other hand,it promotes the construction of Chinese literary and artistic theory.By classifying the basic principles and direction of Chinese literary and artistic development,and by defining the concept of“people”,establishes the“people-centered”creation principle of literature and arts.It also addresses how literature and arts should develop in line with “people’s character” in content and form,and proposes that literature and arts in the new era should stand for the people by heartening people with positive energy and patriotism;by singing for the new era and leading people with great love songs,sing songs for the times;and by guiding people with the central theme. |
