In the watercolor figure painting, the spatial expression of the picture is an indispensable part. The embodiment of the space consciousness in the picture often determines the artist's artistic style. The most common problem in the creation of watercolor figure painting is the organizational relationship between characters and space. The relationship between different screen characters and background space is different, and the effects are different. The spatial expression in watercolor figure painting can not only reflect the creator's deep excavation of the ideological connotation contained in the figure painting, but also reflect the creator's inheritance and innovation ability in the form of space consciousness and spatial distribution.A good art work usually has a unique spatial expression based on the artist's unique emotional accumulation. In the creation report of the series of dialogues on the theme of watercolor characters, through the analysis of the relationship between characters and space in the classic works of art by Rembrandt,Hopper,Wise and Zorn, combined with the author's own real life experience,The creative process of the "Dialogue" series is elaborated in detail. The creation report starts from the spatial representation. The first part gives a concise narrative of the space, and makes a careful distinctionbetween the natural space and the painting space, which leads to the spatial consciousness of the creative subject. In the second part, the author deeply studies the classic works of four different artists such as Hopper, and analyzes the different spatial expressions used by several artists to create a painting space with individual particularity. It also pointed out the direction for the author's creation. The third part elaborates the creative process of the series of "Dialogue" from the four aspects of creation, conception and material collection, creation practice, and creative practice, with special emphasis on composition, light, color, technique, special materials, and points. The line surface constitutes the role of spatial representation of elements. The fourth part summarizes the reflection and sentiment after the creation, and there are progress and regrets. The creative process has laughter and tears, but overall the author's gains are greater than the pay.
