In the process of integrating urbanization into the global system in China,both urban and urban people are constantly developing and changing.The strength of material consumption society,new technology and popular culture makes people produce very different values and spiritual systems.The remarkable and rapid urbanization process in China has made the artists living in this special period experience urban life as an irreplaceable real experience for people in any country or region and for people of any era.Now China not only attracts unfamiliar attention,but also some increasingly successful international Chinese artists are returning home to exhibit their works,such as Huang Yonghong,Cai Guoqiang and Xu Bing.Because of their direct experience of living and working in different parts of the world,they are able to stand at a global level and observe and evaluate the situation of Chinese society and art from a broader and deeper perspective.Symbol and modelling are two key words in artistic creation.Successful use of symbol and modelling language is an important aspect of artistic creation.a variety of artistic expression languages emerge in endlessly,whether domestic or foreign art,oil painting as a visual carrier of human emotions and lifestyle expression.diverse lifestyles and rich cultural information dissemination in cities have different degrees of impact on artists' creation,so as to make art creation.The content and form of the work are gradually diversified.Urban themes have gradually attracted the attention of oil painters.By discussing the origin and development of symbolism in urban theme painting,and further analyzing the linguistic features of symbolic painting through modeling,this paper expounds the unique aesthetic value of symbolism in painting modeling through the analysis of symbolic painting works.From the perspective of city theme modeling language and symbolic meaning,this paper elaborates and analyses this topic in three chapters: Chapter I,an overview of city theme oil painting,an analysis of symbolic meaning and the embodiment of modeling language in city theme oil painting;Chapter II,the concrete creation process of the series of works of Evolutionary Urban Landscape,mainly from symbolic meaning and modeling language to Evolutionary Urban Landscape.The enlightenment of the series creation,to the experiment of creative forms and creative techniques,the combination arrangement of composition,the visual collocation of color,the interactive use of techniques and the experience of expressive style,and then to the transmission of contemporary spirit;Chapter III,as an extension of this paper,explains and sublimates the innovation and Prospect of the series creation of the urban theme oil painting Evolutionary Urban Landscape.With regard to urban themes,emotional expression through means of symbolic meaning and plastic language is also a manifestation of Ideological and emotional exchanges.
