The Research On The Figures Of Huizhou Woodcarving Operas In Qing Dynasty

Huizhou woodcarving recorded the rise and fall of Huizhou regional culture with its unique carving language.Its cultural value not only showed the uniqueness of regional civilization,but also became the typical representative of Chinese traditional culture.Operas and novels,literary allusions had a deep mass rooted in Huizhou,so the cultural concept and aesthetic psychology of Huizhou people were reflected on the figures of Huizhou woodcarving,which became an important window for us to see the life aesthetics that combined education with pleasure and explore the inner worlds of Huizhou people.Studying the characters of Huizhou woodcarving not only can explore the artistic features of Huizhou and the late feudal society of China,but also can provide some ideas for the development of contemporary art.This thesis mainly discusses the idea that Huizhou woodcarving characters in Qing dynasty have more “sense of joy”.First,by using contrast method this paper makes a comparision between Dongyang woodcarving and Chaozhou woodcarving to prove that the figures of Huizhou woodcarving in Qing dynasty are more “joyful”.Then,this paper explores the reasons why the characters of Huizhou woodcarving are “joyful”.The “joyful” figures are the result of Huizhou's unique geographical location,rich economic foundation,prosperous cultural background and joyful aesthetic psychology.After that,this paper analyzes the aesthetic expression of the “joy” and discusses the depiction of smiling faces,the flexible and exaggerated body expression,the treatments of flexible clothing lines and the rich and varied composition forms.Finally,it discusses the the current situation of Huizhou woodcarving's drama theme and the embodiment of “joyful culture”.The contemporary woodcarving characters gradually move towards the road of realism,and the “joy” gradually declines.Meanwhile,the theme of drama shows a trend of diversified development in other art forms.“joyful culture” still has a subtle effect on art in the new era and provide many ideas for contemporary artists.Figure24;Table16;Reference 42.
