The Virtual Space Builds By Light In Sculpture

With the progress of science and technology and concept,modern sculpture is very different from traditional sculpture.Among them,the study of light and space is to create a new field for sculpture.It breaks the space shackles of sculpture creation in the past,instead of imitating the natural objects(figures and animals),but focusing on the use of space,volume and volume of the swing and design to convey an understanding of sculpture.But for these emerging sculpture fields,the theoretical basis has not kept pace with the development of modern sculpture.I found the theory of virtual space by American philosopher Susanne K.Langer in the process of finding the theoretical basis of my works.She sums up and expands the German aesthetician Adolf Hilde Brandt’s "virtual space" art theory,and puts forward a subversive cognition of people’s understanding of space in the past.I hope to deepen the study of the virtual space in sculpture by studying the role of light in the illusory space in this article.The sculptor in the process of making sculpture to understand the audience in the appreciation of art in the mind of the virtual space and the role of light in it,so that the sculpture can be consciously processed.
