Wormwood Gleanings

Wormwood(Artemisia argyi h.Lev.&Vaniot),a herb with a thousand-year cultural tradition,is the treasure of Chinese traditional culture and has a wide range of functions.It also symbolizes the rare national spirit and connotation.For thousands of years,people have incorporated thoughts and emotions into the process of recognizing wormwood,extending its functions and effects in multiple fields from its basic characters,historical origin to the implied meaning of efficacy.With the change of times and the absence of culture,cultural development has gradually become a social hot spot in recent years with the rapid development of economy and under the call of the country.People began to attach great importance to culture,the pursuit of spiritual world sublimation.From the visual point of view,the development of culture will bring the derivative of graphics,graphics as a visual symbol of the culture itself can achieve intuitive interpretation and publicity.However,research projects on artemisia argyi from the perspective of visual application are very scarce.Therefore,this project proposes a design scheme that takes the integration of cultural connotation and design practice as the starting point and posters as the main visual application media,aiming to highlight the folk characteristics of wormwort,and to spread and promote wormwort culture with new expressionsFirst of all,the research object is the content of wormwood culture.The historical background and folk characteristics of wormwood culture are comprehensively analyzed and listed.The elements are extracted from the activity scenes and visual forms involved.Then,the author interprets examples to summarize the elements of cultural publicity,analyzes the desirability of visual images,and puts forward that the main idea of breaking the stereotypical image is to select the essence of culture and return to the essence and original taste.Then,the visual presentation of graphics is carried out based on the summarized image construction principles and picture organization forms,adding decorative and interesting features to the culture.Finally,I settled on the choice of image elements,shape,color,text,layout and material in the visual application,combined with the analysis and display platform--"ai cao town",to complete the final subject design work,in pursuit of the overall work in line with the modern aesthetic,but also take into account the strong heritageIn today’s society,visual design for culture turns out in an endless way,but the quality is mixed.The author hopes that the results of this study can also provide design ideas for the same type of works for reference.It enables the audience to have a comprehensive understanding of wormwood culture,generate emotional resonance,improve the aesthetic taste,and present and inherit the remarkable lingcao culture to the world.
