As a significant part of the new policy,the police administration in the late Qing Dynasty was strongly driven by center government.The local police administration was gradually developed as well as.At present,there are more and more researches on the police administration of late Qing Dynasty in the academic circle.However,these researches do not deeply study on how the police administration was constructed at the county level.Based on studying Nanbu Archives and all kinds of newspapers and periodicals,this thesis attempts to hackle the historical venation of police administration’s development by taking the means of case study.This paper intends to analyze the relevant data to construct the Nanbu Archives county police administration in the late qing dynasty,and analyze its functions.It further explores the power division between county police administration and grassroots society.mainly discussing the relationships between the police administration and the magistrate,gentry,as well as common people.It reveals,during the process of social transformation in the late Qing dynasty,the transfer of local grassroots social power.It is helpful to the reform of the late qing dynasty,the police system and the changes of modern society,and it is of great significance to the contemporary public security management. |
