Research On Artificial Intelligence Character Construction In Science Fiction Films

Artificial intelligence science fiction movies are an important manifestation of artificial intelligence in literary works.Studying the AI character in science fiction movies and analyzing the construction of AI character in movies can observe the character itself in the film and the consciousness of film creators reflected in the character construction.This paper takes content analysis as the main research method.Sixty-six AI movies nominated and awarded for Saturn Awards and recommended by Science Magazine,Wired Magazine and The Guardian were selected for analysis.The analysis focuses on how the AI character is constructed in the film and the creator’s consciousness reflected by the character construction.This paper is divided into five chapters,in the introduction part,the historical track of the development of artificial intelligence character is simply sorted out.The first chapter starts from the visual appearance,analyzes the appearance,name code and power construction of artificial intelligence character.The second chapter analyzes the inner personality psychology of the character of artificial intelligence,and makes use of id,ego,superego theory and maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory in personality psychology.It is the different construction of artificial intelligence in appearance and inner psychology that promotes the development of film plot.Therefore,chapter three studies the ending of artificial intelligence character.Chapter four explores the gender construction of artificial intelligence character.The fifth chapter combines the contents of the four chapters and studies the consciousness of film creators revealed in the character construction of artificial intelligence by applying the principles of technical philosophy.Through the sorting out of the character of artificial intelligence in the first four chapters,especially the construction of the ending of the character of artificial intelligence,it is found that the film creators have created a "cyber" space for us,and the boundary between people and technology has become blurred,thus revealing the film creators’ worries and fears about artificial intelligence technology.
