The Construction Of "Youth Subject" In The Post-Revolutionary Age:A Study Of Wang Shuo's Works

A series of youth images created by Wang Shuo in his works have become a unique landscape in Chinese contemporary literature history.The analysis of his character's behavior,language,and the study of "fever for Wang Shuo" as a cultural phenomenon are endless.This paper intends to start from the youth image of Wang Shuo's works,to explore the construction process of the youth subject in the post-revolutionary era,to provide a new perspective for the interpretation of Wang Shuo's works,and through the analysis of the works,it can be used as a reference for understanding the youth groups in the time of transformation.Wang Shuo's writing style has changed significantly between his early and latter works.In his early works,such as Stewardess,Rubber man,the traces of Wang Shuo's self-experience are very obvious.He tries to save the revolutionary ideal through love,but love can't compete with the logic of commodity economy.In the series of works of the Mischief subject matter such as Masters of Mischief and All in Fun,the author wants to give meaning to the existence of the individual by constructing the "youth subject".But what the Mischief tried to build through ridicule is only a miniature communist collective landscape.They are freely expressed at the language level without any actual social participation.After the Mischief subject matter,the author begins to think about the question "Who am I?" in the works such as Ferocious Animal,Xu Ye,However,whether through the most legitimate father role or to open the distance to examine themselves,the author can't find the answer "Who am I?" Facing this uncertain "I",the youth hope to realize their self-salvation through the moment of love brought by death.However,facing "death",the problem of "life" be forced out again,and what is the meaning of life is exactly what the author wants to answer in literary works.Wang Shuo tries to explore the existence of the individual through literary creation,but since his construction never surpass his own living state and vision,his construction eventually failed.However,his construction intention and construction process reflect precisely the true voice of the individual in the time of transformation.
