The Beauty Of Inei In Tanizaki Junichiro's Novels

Since modern times,Japanese aesthetics of Mono-no-aware,Yugen and Wabi-Sabi have attracted more and more attention from international academic and cultural circles.Tanizaki Junichiro,a famous Japanese litterateur in modern times,attached great importance to Japanese traditional aesthetics and aesthetic culture.He pointed in his essay In Praise of Inei that there is a kind of pursuit for the beauty of seclusion,elegance,simplicity and obscure in Japanese traditional aesthetic culture.In his later works,such as Syunkinsyou,Blind Story and Sasame Yuki,Tanizaki fully demonstrated the beauty of?Inei?.This thesis intends to study the beauty of Inei in Tanizaki Junichiro's novels.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the thesis is divided into four chapters.The first chapter combine the opinion of In Praise of Inei with relevant theories of Japanese traditional aesthetics to explore the rich connotation of Inei.The beauty of Inei can be said to be a Japanese aesthetic form of connotation,pursuing the unity of profundity and simplicity,and is closely related to the Yugen and Wabi-Sabi which is the traditional aesthetic form.The second chapter analyzes the beauty of Inei in Japanese living spaces,such as houses,gardens,mountains and plains or other social living spaces described by Tanizaki,and discusses the?heart of nature?of the Inei,that is,the characteristics of seeking to simulate nature,integrating nature and returning to nature.The third chapter discusses the beauty of Inei about female image in Tanizaki's works,grasps its implicit and introverted aesthetic characteristics from two aspects of external appearance and internal personality,and further deepens the understanding of the beauty of Inei about female by analyzing the beauty of women in the heart of children and blind people.The fourth chapter,based on the first three chapters,summarizes the relationship between the beauty of Inei in Tanizaki's works and modern society and modern aesthetics.On the one hand,it analyzes the conflict between the beauty of Inei and modern society,on the other hand,it explores the integration of Inei and modern society and its value in modern society.Under the wave of modernization,Tanizaki regained the lost fragments of Japanese traditional aesthetics in his works and tried to call back the beauty of Inei in literary word.The?beauty of Inei?he put forward comforted and remedied the spiritual crisis of modern people to a certain extend.Tanizaki's inheritance of traditional culture and rediscovery of traditional beauty have left people a Yugen and Wabi-Sabi place in modern society.This is also the value of studying Tanizaki's aesthetic theory.Today,the revival and internationalization of Japanese traditional aesthetics and aesthetic culture are showing the foresight and cultural significance of Tanizaki's advocacy about the beauty of Inei.At present,the domestic research on the beauty of Inei in Tanizaki's works is not enough.I hope this paper can make up for the lack of domestic research in this area.
