| Xian Xinghai is an outstanding composer and conductor in modern China.Mao Zedong even nominated him as “People's Musician”.To some extent,Mao Zedong's instructions have a certain influence on the transformation of Xian Xinghai'smusic style: from“music for music”to“music for the people”.At the same time,he also has a great impact on Mao Zedong with his outstanding musical talents and classic music works.The musical interaction between Mao Zedong and Xianxinghai has become a “milestone” in the history of modern Chinese music,which also provides us a typical case study between politicians and musicians.It is necessary to study the interaction between Mao Zedong and Xian Xinghai from the perspective of unity of history and logic,the combination of theory of practice,and the connection between tradition and modernity for it has unique historical significance and value of the times.This paper takes the music interaction between Mao Zedong and Xian Xinghai as the main research object.On the basis of the historical investigation of the relationship between Mao Zedong and Xian Xinghai,this paper focuses on Mao Zedong's leading role in the transformation of Xian Xinghai's life as well as Xian Xinghai's influence on Mao Zedong and his thoughts from the perspective of popularization of Marxism.The specific chapters are as follows.The introduction part mainly explains the background of the topic,the reasons for choosing the topic and the significance of the topic.The research status of Xian Xinghai's personal study,Mao Zedong's literary thoughts and musical thoughts as well as the interaction between them is reviewed in this part.This part also introduces the research ideas and research methods as well as the innovation of this paper.Chapter One mainly explains the process of exchanges between Mao Zedong and Xian Xinghai.They admired each other long before Xian Xinghai arrived in Yan'an and got to know each other.After Xian Xinghai left for the Soviet Union,they even expressed cares and concerns for each other.This chapter analyzes the interactions and contacts between Mao Zedong and Xian Xinghai in details including cares for each other in daily life,interaction in musical creation,correct guidance in thoughts and so on.This chapteralso discusses the basis for their interactions and it turns out their emotional basis is their similar inner personality,their social basis is the background of the coexistence of the times and their basis of thought is the common ideal and belief.Chapter two discusses Mao Zedong's leading role in the transformation of Xian Xinghai's musical life which could be divided into four parts: Mao Zedong's thought guidance for the position of Xian Xinghai as a “People's Musician”;Mao Zedong'stheoretical guidance for the paradigm of the development of national music for Xian Xinghai;Mao Zedong's spiritual impetus for Xian Xinghai to open up the music path with life as the source;Mao Zedong's method enlightment for the music works featuring the creation of auti-war.Chapter three mainly analyzes Xian Xinghai's influence on Mao Zedong and Mao Zedong's thought and especially Mao Zedong's literary thoughts from three aspects.It is believed that Xian xinghai's music works has not only provided a classical model for the formation and development of Mao Zedong's literary and artistic thought but also provided music expression for the interpretation and spread of Mao Zedong's thought.Moreover,Xian Xinghaihas provided a practical case for Mao Zedong to deal with the relationship between literary and artistic talents appropriately.The conclusion part summarizesthe contemporary enlightenment of the musical interaction between Xian Xinghai and Mao Zedong's on thepopularization of Marxism.It points out that the spread of music should become an important path to promote the popularization of Marxism.It also proposes that Marxist theoretical workers should keep close connection with musical workers while the musical workers should also accept and spread Marxism ideology. |
