As a symbol of the unique representation of Chinese culture,the martial arts cartoons has been characterised by the integration of creative thinking pattern and outstanding commercial wisdom,and has become an significant part in the modern anime industry.In 2007,animated series The Legend of Qin was released,which was China's first 3D martial arts cartoon and appreciated greatly by the audience with its visual effects and profound cultural background.3D technology helped this cartoon make a success in creating a dynamic and aesthetic martial arts world and shape a great number of passionate chivalrous women,who were very memorable.Those heroines with chivalry and a dramatic mindset are always keen to the persistent pursuit of enforcing justice in the real world on behalf of heaven.Those heroine images in The Legend of Qin are shaped on the basis of practice of heroic spirit carried on generation by generation in our society.They are also the perceptual creation of the hero complex accumulated over thousands of years in the global world.The creation of chivalrous women in The Legend of Qin are influenced by three different culture,namely,Confucianism,Taoism and Mohism,and that is why three types of chivalrous women featured those three kinds of culture separately can be found in this cartoon.Moreover,the success of shaping those chivalrous women in multiple was makes The Legend of Qin a high quality cartoon,which is mainly accomplished by the integration of ideologies and practices,the combination of traditionaland modern animated design,and the application of audio-visual language with chivalrous features..The great number of chivalrous women shaped in this cartoon provides the models for us to explore Chinese chivalrous culture travelling through time,and it displays the profound social ideology and the rational criticism.The images of chivalrous woman in this cartoon reflects the feminist ideology,but it still stuck in the stylised pattern with regard to gender.Its interpretation of the spirit extracted from the Hundred School of Thought carries on the profound Chinese traditional culture,but people's intrinsic memory of classic texts is changed due to the deconstruction of postmodernism.Its concern about the freedom of personality and meaning of life makes it a humanism work,but the detachment is destroyed by the essence of the pursuit of commercial interests.To sum up,lasting and vivid characters can only exist in creative art project centered on our history.
