The military power were valued above the arts in Yuan Dynasty.Especially,Scornful of southerners.The promotion of some Han people was hopeless,and they became immersed in the art of painting and calligraphy.This brought about the revival of the art of painting and calligraphy.,In this trend of revival,Zhao Mengfu is the first,and then is Xianyu Shu.Xianyu Shu has many ink marks.His artistic achievements are the highest in cursive script,among which the large-character cursive script is the most prominent.His cursive calligraphy was from Jin and Tang Dynasties,straight and narrow,without emotion,and has the flavor of Jin and Tang Dynasties.A person's growth is bound to be confined to the times in which he lives.Therefore,this paper first analyses the background of the times in which Xianyu Shu lives,his lifetime story and the origin of calligraphy under this background.Through combing,let us have a general understanding of Xianyu Shu and the general background of his era.The second part is about the thought and practice of Xianyu Shu's calligraphy.The thoughts and the practice of his calligraphy creation have distinct characteristics of The Times.Through searching and reading relevant materials,We can have a general understanding of the real thoughts of his calligraphy,and then go deep into the core of his thoughts of calligraphy--reversion to tradition,which is the style of calligraphy in Jin and Tang Dynasties.The third part is the analysis of the techniques in Xianyu Shu's cursive script.It is the most important part of this paper.In-depth analysis of the techniques in Xianyu Shu's cursive script works,By the performance analysis and summary,we can understand the distinctive traits of the four aspects in the technique of writing style: the technique of word structure,the technique of ink style and the technique of the overall layout.From it we can know the personal artistic style characteristics in Xianyu Shu's cursive script.The fourth part is the comparison of Xianyu Shu's techniques with other writers.By comparing Xianyu Shu's cursive script with Wang Xianzhi's cursive script of eastern Jin Dynasty,Huai Su's cursive script of Tang Dynasty and Zhao Mengfu' cursive script at the same time.Through the comparison of the calligraphers closely related to his cursive style,we can better understand the origin and style orientation of his cursive style.The last part concentrates on the influence and value to the later generation of Xianyu Shu's cursive script.This chapter mainly elaborates on the influence of Xianyu Shu's cursive script on the later calligraphers and the inspiration to the contemporary cursive writing.The thought of return to the ancient calligraphy affects the formation of the unique style of Xianyu Shu's cursive script,and it develops and innovates on the basis of inheriting the tradition,which brings him animportant historical position in the early Yuan dynasty and even in the long history of calligraphy.Special research on Xianyu Shu's cursive script can not only let the world know more about him and its cursive,but also have high reference significance for contemporary cursive learners,adding new elements to the diversification of cursive.
