The dialects of the floating residents in Guangxi include Danjia dialect in the south of Guangxi and the boat people's dialect in the north of Guangxi.Currently,there are few research results on the boat people's dialect in northern Guangxi.Pingle County is a language point of it.On the basis of field investigation,this paper describes the phonetic system of the boat people's dialect in Pingle County,and compares it with Pinghua dialect in northern Guangxi.And the author puts forward her own ideas on the language family to which it belong,to provide materials for comprehensive and in-depth study of the boat people's dialect in northern Guangxi.The paper is divided into six parts.Chapter one is exordium which introduces Pingle County's geography,population,history,language usage,the current situation of the research on the dialect of the boat people and the significance and methods of the research in this paper.Chapter two describes initial consonants,vowels,tones,the collocation of them,and homophone table of the boat people's dialect in Pingle County.Chapter three is a description of phonetic features,and literary and colloquial readings of the boat people's dialect in Pingle County.Chapter four focus on comparison between the boat people's dialect in Pingle County and Beijing dialect and mid-ancient pronunciation in such three aspects as initial consonants,vowels and tones.Chapter five compares the boat people's dialect in Pingle County with Pinghua dialect in northern Guangxi from the aspects of phonetics and vocabulary,and exploring the language family to which it belong.The conclusion part is a summary of the whole paper.
