Narrative Research In Character Documentaries

The birth of film,from the beginning of the documentary.As an artistic form of film,documentary has its own unique authenticity and narrative plays a crucial role.The so-called narrative,is to tell the story to the audience.Documentary is not only the combination of technology and art,but also the unity of vision and hearing.Whether the director can skillfully use the two elements of picture and sound to tell the story clearly and convey the concept to the audience determines the quality of a documentary.Documentaries have various forms and rich types.As an important branch of documentaries,they focus on the characters and record the common and representative characters.By reflecting on the characters in the film,the audience can reflect on their own hearts and thus generate empathy.Taking the creation of my graduation work Taipei xiao liu as an example,this paper,by analyzing the narration in character documentaries and combining the theoretical knowledge and practical experience of film and television narratology,summarizes the narrative attributes of character documentaries in the process of exploration.Documentary,"liu" in Taipei to Taipei Christian church workers Liu Zhao field as the main subject,showing the church workers in faith do good good qualities,by communication and for a long period of time,into the working group of Taiwan,with real objective record method,describes the current status of the underlying character of Taiwan society true survival,thus revealed the contemporary social value and significance of the church,and further explained the core spirit of faith,gave the faith must life connotation and meaning of life.
